I’ve just finished working on a new blog header for insideology.com – a lifestyle blog run by (a now good-friend) Annabel Bird. I redesigned her branding and blog design earlier this year, and she asked me to created to headers – one for Spring/Summer and another for Autumn/Winter. As the nights are drawing in and there’s a chill in the air, it meant it was time for her to switch blog headers over, so here is the Autumn design which is now live on her blog.

I’ve just finished working on a project with a really lovely blogger - Sarah Parry – who is responsible for the uber-pretty blog lifelola. Sarah came to me a couple of months ago wanting to re-design her blog header and made it much more personal to her. So she tasked me with coming up with a blog design that included all the things that define her and mean the most to her – her cat Geordie, sea shells, books, London, writing… Sarah also wanted to keep the design very light and feminine, so I came up with a colour palette combining corals, pinks and sea-foam greens, right up my street!
I knew we were on the same wavelength when I drew a mason jar with a sprig of lavender and ran it past Sarah, and she said that she kept dried lavender all over her house! Spooky. Love it when you just ‘get’ the person you’re designing for, it makes it so much more of a pleasure. Here is a look sneek peek at some of the preliminary sketches:

Sarah also asked me to take the design over to business cards, so I’ll be posting about those as soon as they’re back from the printer!

Just wanted to share our new business card design with you. The logo was designed by me and they’re printed on 600 gsm stock and feel reeeeally nice to hold! Hope you like x
Yay! It’s official! Today our shiny new website finally went live! This has been a labour of love let me tell you! Back in May, we decided that it was time to give the Gemma Milly studio a little face lift, so set about working on new branding and a brand new website. Three months then ensued and various objects were periodically thrown at the computer screen when things didn’t go to plan. But, after a lot of sweat and tears, we’re really proud and happy to say that the re-brand is finished.
The thing is with websites – you never know which bits to keep and which bits to bin until people actually start using them. So we would be extreeeeemely grateful if you could leave us some feedback (good and bad!) either here on the blog or via twitter. We’re really interested to hear your thoughts. There are still lots of things to do so there will probably be some little tweaks over the coming weeks.
In the meantime though, we hope you like!
