With so many wedding stationery suites around, how do you decide on the one that is right for your wedding? Well the wonderful thing about commissioning an Illustration for your stationery is that it will be something really special and completely unique to you.
As a qualified Illustrator with a background in Design and Print, I’m perfectly placed to handle all the elements of your stationery design, from initial concepts right through to choosing the right paper stock and printing. In fact I love nothing more than chatting to happy brides-to-be about beautiful paper, pretty envelopes and gorgeous fonts. In contrast to much of the stationery on the market, I hand-illustrate all of my designs (unless requested otherwise) which gives the finished product and very delicate and beautifully romantic feel. Perfect for a wedding!
how does it all work?
If you’d like me to create a one-of-a-kind design, here’s how it works:
- We have an initial chat together to discuss your ideas, including colour schemes, themes, budget and timescales.
- I then take all this information away and put together a quotation for the design and print of your stationery, as well as an idea of timescales.
- Once you have approved the quote and paid the deposit (50% non-refundable), I will send you a contract.
- Then it’s time to get creative! There are three stages to the design process:
- Design concepts: I work with you to come up with a rough concept for your design.
- Design development: The approved concept is developed further to make sure it’s exactly how you want it, right down to the last detail. It’s worth noting that because my Illustrations are drawn by hand, it is very difficult to make changes once the design is approved, so any further changes after this stage will be charged at £20 per amend.
- Artwork: time to dot the i’s and cross the t’s. This is where the finishing touches are made to your stationery.
- Print and Production: Once you have approved your artwork and it has been whizzed off to the printer, you will receive a pdf proof of all items of stationery. It is your responsibility to check that all the details are correct – have a peek at my proofing checklist for more information on the process.
If you have any questions at all, either check out frequently asked questions, or get in touch and I’ll happily spend as long as it takes chatting to you about your dream stationery.
